Andrew 'AJ' Johnson is Australia's only 'AR-Revolution' / Steadicam / camera operator specialising in Feature Films and Commercials and regularly works all over the country.
With more than ten years experience behind the camera, in over 13 countries, AJ own's and operates the state of the art 'AR-Revolution' rig, which is the most advanced body mounted camera stabilisation system in the world.
The system can be setup in two modes:
1. Steadicam mode (like a normal Steadicam style rig)
2. 'AR' Revolution mode.
When setup in 'AR' mode, the rig can do everything a regular Steadicam rig can do, however instead of the camera being restricted to either high or low mode, it sits inside an auto leveling rotating head, which allows it to move from high mode to low mode (and vice - versa) while automatically maintaining a level horizon during the shot.
Apart from the massive time saving abilities of "no more waiting for 'low mode' re-rigging", the other great feature of the 'AR' system is that because the rig no longer needs to be kept vertical, the camera can travel sideways - over and under objects, allowing shots that have never before been possible.
